Canada announces its team in men’s hockey for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games

The Canadian National Team in men’s hockey for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing has been announced. The club will have one prior Canadian Olympic gold medalist as Eric Staal of Thunder Bay, Ontario is on the roster after winning gold at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

Staal has not played in the NHL this season. However he did play 53 games last season with the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens. He had five goals and eight assists for 30 points, but struggled defensively, as he was an awful -30. In 17 NHL seasons, Staal has 1034 points.
