Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ontario is the leader after 54 holes at the 2023 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. The two-time major champion is at -14 and has a three stroke lead over Nelly Korda of the United States and Nasa Hataoka of Japan, who are both at -11.
Henderson shot a four round score of -3. She birdied the second, ninth, 11th and 16th holes, and bogeyed the 12th hole.
Hataoka had a sensational back nine as she had six birdies. She birdied the 11th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th and 18th holes to get into contention.
Both Henderson and Hataoka have won the Los Angeles Open over the last two years. Henderson won in 2021 and Hataoka won in 2022. In order to qualify for the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, players have had to have won on the LPGA Tour within the last two years.
Henderson seems to be healthy after having a back injury in the latter stages of the 2022 golf season. As a result, she withdrew from the Pelican Women’s Championship in Belleair, Florida. In the final round, Henderson, Hataoka and Korda are to tee off at 11:40 AM ET. For Henderson, she is gunning for her 13th LPGA tournament title.
