Canadian Olympic gold medalist Jay Bouwmeester of the St. Louis Blues had a key game offensively in their 4-3 playoff win over the Dallas Stars on Monday night from Dallas, Texas. Bouwmeester of Edmonton, Alberta, who won a gold medal for Canada at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, had two assists in game three of the second round series. Two other Canadians had a multipoint game for the Blues as Tyler Bozak of Regina, Saskatchewan and Jaden Schwartz of Wilcox, Saskatchewan, each had one goal and one assist. With the win, the Blues took a two games to one series lead.
Schwartz opened the scoring at 1:27 of the first period from Colton Parayko of St. Albert, Alberta and Ryan O’Reilly of Clinton, Ontario. Bozak then put the Blues up 2-1 on a goal from Robert Thomas of Aurora, Ontario and Vince Dunn of Mississauga, Ontario at 8:30 of the second period. Alex Pietrangelo of King City, Ontario, who also won a gold medal for Canada at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, then scored from Bouwmeester and Schwartz at 14:24 of the third period to put the Blues up 3-2. Then on the game winning goal at 18:22 of the third period, Bouwmeester and Bozak picked up assists on a goal by Patrick Maroon.
