
Ben Silverman of Thornhill, Ontario is in contention at the 2024 Sony Open in Honolulu, Hawaii. After 54 holes, the Canadian is at -11, in fourth place, and three strokes back of the leader, Keegan Bradley and Grayson Murray of the United States.
Silverman had a score of three under par in round one, two under par in round two, and six under par in round three. In the first round on Thursday, Silverman had four birdies and one bogey (birdied the fourth, seventh, ninth and 18th holes, and bogeyed the 12th hole). In the second round on Friday, Silverman had four birdies and two bogeys (birdied the ninth, 12th, 17th and 18th holes, and bogeyed the first and fifth holes). In the third round on Saturday, Silverman had six birdies and zero bogeys (birdied the second, third, fourth, ninth, 13th, and 18th holes).
Currently, Silverman is 159th in the Official World Golf Rankings. His best prior finish in a PGA Tour event was a seventh place at the 2017 Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi.
Heading into the final round, Bradley, the 2011 PGA Championship winner, is tied for the lead with Murray at -14. American Sam Stevens is in third place at -13, while Silverman is tied for fourth place with Japan’s Taiga Semikawa, American Chris Kirk (the 2024 Sentry winner), France’s Matthieu Pavon, and South Korea’s Byeong Hun An.
