Jordan Kyrou notches his third career NHL hat trick

St. Louis Blues center Jordan Kyrou of Toronto, Ontario notched his third career National Hockey League hat trick on Thursday. He accomplished the feat in a 5-2 Blues win over the New York Rangers at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Kyrou tied the game at one at 4:02 of the first period from Robert Thomas of Aurora, Ontario, and Pavel Buchnevich. He then scored at 7:30 of the first period from Thomas and Buchnevich again. This time it was on the power-play and put the Blues up 2-1. Kyrou then put the Blues up 4-1 from Nick Leddy at 7:01 of the third period.

There were two Canadians on the Blues with a multi-point game. In addition to Kyrou who scored thrice, Thomas had two assists.

Kyrou’s first NHL hat trick came on December 19, 2022, in a 5-1 Blues win over the Vancouver Canucks. Kyrou’s second NHL hat trick came on March 11, 2023 in a 5-2 Blues win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

In 2023-24, Kyrou has 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points in 40 games. He is a -2 with 10 penalty minutes, seven power-play points, 141 shots on goal, two faceoff wins, 18 blocked shots, 12 hits, 23 takeaways, and 26 giveaways. The two faceoff wins came in Blues wins. The first came in a 4-2 St. Louis win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on October 21, and the second came in a 3-0 St. Louis win over the Calgary Flames on October 26.

With the win, the Blues improve to a record of 21 wins, 18 regulation losses, and one loss in extra time for 43 points. They are two points back of the Nashville Predators for a playoff spot.
