Adam Hadwin in contention at 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship

Adam Hadwin of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan is in contention at the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, Tennessee. In the first weekend of the 2023 FedEx Cup Playoffs, the Canadian is at -7 and three strokes back of the leader, Lucas Glover of Greenville, South Carolina. Glover, the 2009 United States Open champion, is at -10.

Hadwin had a first round score of -3 and a second round score of -4. On Thursday, he had four birdies and one bogey. Hadwin birdied the first, ninth, 13th and 18th holes, and bogeyed the sixth hole. On Friday, Hadwin had six birdies and one double bogey. He birdied the fourth, ninth, 10th, 14th, 15th, and 16th holes, and double bogeyed the 18th hole.

American Jordan Spieth is alone in second place at -9. Spieth is a three-time major champion as he won the 2015 Masters, 2015 United States Open, and 2017 British Open.

There is a five-way tie for third place. There you can find Sungjae Im and Tom Kim of South Korea, Emiliano Grillo of Argentina, Tommy Fleetwood of England, and American Taylor Moore.

Hadwin is in a six-way tie for eighth place. He is tied alongside Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland, Americans Scottie Scheffler, J.T. Poston and Lee Hodges, and Cam Davis of Australia. McIlroy and Scheffler are major champions. McIlroy won the 2011 United States Open, 2012 and 2014 PGA Championship, and 2014 British Open. Scheffler won the 2022 Masters.
