Adam Hadwin and Taylor Pendrith remain in contention at 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic

Canadians Adam Hadwin of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and Taylor Pendrith of Richmond Hill, Ontario are both in contention after the third round of the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic from the Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, Michigan.

Hadwin is in second place all alone at -19, and Pendrith is in third place all alone at -18. In round three on Saturday, Hadwin was simply sensational. He had seven birdies and one eagle. Hadwin birdied the first, third, seventh, 10th, 12th, 15th, and 17th holes, and eagled the 14th hole. This was Hadwin’s fifth eagle during the 2022-23 PGA season.

Pendrith had seven birdies and two bogeys for a third round score of five-under-par 67. He birdied the fourth, fifth, seventh, 10th, 12th, 16th, and 17th holes, and bogeyed the 15th and 18th holes.

The leader after 54 holes is Rickie Fowler of Murrieta, California. The 34-year-old is looking for his first PGA Tour win in four years since he won the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open.

There are two more golfers int contention this weekend. England’s Aaron Rai and American Peter Kuest are tied for fourth place at -17. Due to inclement weather, the fourth round of the PGA Tour is taking place early Sunday morning with no television coverage. There is audio coverage however on PGA Tour Radio.
