Welcome to a website with focus on the Canadian Sports Scene…

Starting June 26, 2017, a new website for Canadian sports content will be launched. This website will have information about Canadian high performance athletes, some information about the Canadian professional sports scene, interviews, analysis and interactive content to keep our readership engaged.

From 2009 to 2016, I was the Canadian Olympics Examiner writer until the Examiner shut down in July of 2016. I have since teamed up with former Examiner writer Leonard Raleigh, the CEO at Telapost, to create a website where Canadian content will be the focus.

In early June, I attended the Canadian Olympic Committee media summit. There I had the opportunity to interview ten Canadian winter sports stars who have an excellent chance of representing Canada at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. For the next two months, starting the week of June 26, you will be able to read my interview with a Canadian sports star who hopes to reach the podium in Pyeongchang this February.

You will also have a chance to read about the success stories of Canadian amateur athletes who are performing exceptionally on the world class stage year round. One Canadian team that is showing great promise at the moment is the men’s national volleyball team.  After six games in World Volleyball League action, they have a very respectable record of three wins and three losses and have even beaten the United States!

We will also not forget about the Canadian professional sports scene. There will be weekly in-season news about the Canadian franchises in the NHL, MLB, CFL and NBA.

I have been a regular sports writer in the past for GO! Magazine, Blaze Magazine, Prospect Magazine and was very fortunate to contribute to the content of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame when it moved to Calgary from Toronto in 2011. You can also read my current work at the Canadian Encyclopedia, Hockey Magazine Calgary, AXS, and the Independent Sports News.

I hope you become a regular reader to www.canadiansportscene.com.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Freeborn
