The pool play has been completed at the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Kamloops, British Columbia. However, before the championship round on Friday afternoon takes place, there will be two tiebreakers from Pool A on Friday morning.

That is because there was a four-way tie for second place. Nova Scotia, the first Wildcard team skipped by Kaitlyn Lawes of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Quebec and British Columbia, all finished up with the same record of five wins and three losses. Nova Scotia will play Lawes and Quebec will play British Columbia. The winners will then play Manitoba and Ontario in the first round of the championship round.

Team Canada, skipped by Kerri Einarson of Gimli, Manitoba, and Northern Ontario await two winners from the first round of the championship round. The winners of those games will go to the 1-2 page playoff game and the losers go to the 3-4 playoff game.

Team Canada went through Pool A undefeated for the second straight year. However, last year at Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Einarson lost to New Brunswick’s Andrea Kelly in the second round of the championship round 8-6 before winning three straight games and capturing her third straight Canadian women’s curling championship.
