After three days at the 2022 Tim Hortons Brier in Lethbridge, Alberta, there are three teams with a record of three wins and zero losses. They are Calgary’s Kevin Koe (representing Team Alberta), St. John’s Brad Gushue (representing Wildcard Team #1) and Saskatchewan’s Matt Dunstone (representing Wildcard Team #2).

On Sunday, Gushue defeated Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs 8-7 in the most notable game of the weekend. One reason is because Gushue and Jacobs have both won Olympic gold medals in the past. Gushue won an Olympic gold medal at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, and Jacobs won an Olympic gold medal at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. In Gushue’s win over Jacobs, he had a remarkable in-off which allowed him to score three points. He actually had two three enders, as he scored three times again in the sixth end to take a 7-3 lead.

Koe beat Ontario’s Glenn Howard 7-5 on Sunday. Howard is at 59 years of age, and in his 19th Brier. In a remarkable statistic, Howard has been to four more Briers than Nicholas Codner of Team Newfoundland has been alive. Codner, the alternate for Team Newfoundland, is only 15 years of age. Dunstone meanwhile went to 3-0 following a 9-5 win over Team Yukon.
