Team Canada is in the final of the 2019 World Hockey Championship in Bratislava, Slovakia on Sunday. In the semifinal on Saturday, Vegas Golden Knights right winger Mark Stone of Winnipeg, Manitoba led Canada in scoring with two points (one goal and one assist) as Team Canada trounced the Czech Republic 5-1.

The other Canadian goal scorers were Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse of Hamilton, Ontario, Columbus Blue Jackets center Pierre-Luc Dubois of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec, Nashville Predators centre Kyle Turris of New Westminster, British Columbia and Ottawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot of Sainte-Marie, Quebec. This is the sixth straight time that Canada has beaten the Czech Republic at the World Hockey Championship.

It has been an absolutely marvelous World Hockey Championship for Stone. After Canada’s first nine games of the tournament, Stone leads all players in the entire tournament with eight goals.

Who Canada’s opponent will be in Sunday’s final in Bratislava is very surprising. It is the pesky Finns. On Saturday, Finland had a 32 save shutout from Kevin Lankinen as Finland shocked Russia 1-0. The Russians were completely stacked and loaded with National Hockey League superstars. Finland meanwhile only had two NHL players on their entire roster–defenseman Henri Jokiharju of the Chicago Blackhawks and right winger Juho Lammikko of the Florida Panthers.
