Tammara Thibeault of Saint-Georges, Quebec became a world boxing champion on Saturday. Thibeault defeated Desley Robinson of Australia 100-90 on the three judges’s scorecards to win the International Boxing Federation, World Boxing Organization and Ring Magazine women’s middleweight world championship titles in a fight in Orlando, Florida.
Robinson had held the IBF Women’s Middleweight title since December 13, 2024, and the WBO Women’s Middleweight title since April 11, 2025. The Ring Magazine women’s middleweight world championship title was vacant before Thibeault’s Saturday night victory.
It will now be interesting to see if Thibeault will fight Kaye Scott of Australia next. Scott is the current World Boxing Association middleweight champion and World Boxing Council middleweight champion. Thibeault would definitely have the age advantage, as she is only 29 years old, while Scott is 42 years old.
Thibeault’s win by unanimous decision was the second unanimous victory of her career as a professional boxer. She previously defeated fellow Canadian Natasha Spence of Cambridge, Ontario on December 13, 2024 in Orlando. Thibeault has also won three professional fights via knockout. She defeated Sonya Dreilling of the United States on March 7, 2025 in Toronto, Ontario, Mary Casamassa of the United States on June 11, 2025 in New York City, and Christina Mazzotta of Italy on September 27, 2025 in Montreal, Quebec.
