Roger Sloan remains in contention at Sanderson Farms Championship

Roger Sloan of Calgary, Alberta is still in contention at the 2021 Sanderson Farms Golf Championship in Jackson, Mississippi. On Saturday, Sloan shot a four-under-par 68, and is at -15, and three strokes back of the leader, Sahith Theegala of the United States.

Sloan had four birdies and zero bogeys on Saturday. He had birdies on the third, ninth, 11th and 17th holes. Sloan has birdied the third and 17th holes in each of the three days of the Sanderson Farms Golf Championship to date. Despite only shooting a four-under-par 68 on Saturday, compared to a six-under-par 66 on Thursday and a five-under-par 67 on Friday, Sloan had his first round without a bogey on Saturday.

Heading into the fourth round, Sloan is the only non-American in contention. Cameron Tringale, Denny McCarthy, Sam Burns, and Cameron Young are one stroke back at -17. Seth Reeves and Trey Mullinax are two strokes back at -16. Meanwhile, Sloan is tied with Aaron Wise at -15.

Currently ranked 221st in the Official World Golf Rankings, Sloan has had two top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour in 2021. He was in sixth place at the 2021 Barracuda Championship in Truckee, California in August, and then lost in a playoff to Kevin Kisner at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina in August.
