The New England Patriots traded wide receiver N’Keal Harry of Toronto, Ontario to the Chicago Bears according to Nate Bouda of NFL Trade Rumours on Tuesday. In return, the Patriots will receive a seventh round draft pick in the 2024 National Football League Draft.
Harry played the last three seasons with the Patriots. He had 12 catches for 184 yards this past season. In three seasons in New England, Harry had 57 catches for 598 yards and four touchdowns.
Harry was initially the Patriots’ first round draft pick, 32nd overall, in the 2019 NFL Draft. He played his college football at the University of Arizona.
There is no doubt the Bears are in a rebuild. They will be battling the Detroit Lions to stay out of the basement in the NFC North. The Patriots meanwhile will be a playoff contending team in the AFC, but it is unlikely they will contend for a division title because the Buffalo Bills are simply too powerful.
There was also a Canadian Football League trade in the last 48 hours. On Monday, the Edmonton Elks traded quarterback Nick Arbuckle to the Ottawa Renegades for a fourth round draft pick in the 2023 CFL Draft. This trade needs to be considered a win for Edmonton when you consider the fact Arbuckle was awful in his time with the Elks. Arbuckle completed 74 passes in 115 attempts for 892 yards, with a horrendous touchdown to interception ratio of 2:8.
