Nic Demski of Winnipeg, Manitoba had his third multi-touchdown game of the season on Friday. The 28-year-old had five catches for 94 yards as the Blue Bombers beat the Saskatchewan Roughriders 31-13.
Demski’s first touchdown was right before half time as he caught a 25-yard pass from Zach Collaros, which put the Blue Bombers up 17-3. Demski then had a second half touchdown from Collaros for 43 yards in the second half which put the Blue Bombers up 24-13. Demski’s other multi-touchdown games this season came in a 35-28 Blue Bombers win over the Calgary Stampeders on July 30 and in a 54-20 Blue Bombers win over the Roughriders on September 10. On the season, Demski now has 52 catches for 613 yards and nine touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Blue Bombers wide receiver Dalton Schoen set the Blue Bombers record for most touchdown catches in a season by a rookie receiver with 11. He broke the record previously set by Neill Armstrong, who had 10 catches in 1951. Schoen’s record-breaking catch was 64 yards from Collaros to close out the scoring.
The Blue Bombers continue to have the best record in the entire CFL. They currently have a record of 13 wins and two losses. Their 26 points are six more points than the British Columbia Lions and Calgary Stampeders, who each have 20 points. The Lions are at 10 wins and five losses, and the Stampeders are at 10 wins and six losses.
