Nic Demski and Kurleigh Gittens Jr. record Week 11 touchdowns

Canadians Nic Demski of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Kurleigh Gittens Jr. of Ottawa, Ontario recorded week 11 touchdowns in the Canadian Football League for winning teams this past weekend. Gittens Jr. had a seven-yard converted touchdown catch from McLeod Bethel-Thompson on Saturday with one minute and 16 seconds left in the fourth quarter to put the Elks up 46-22 in a 47-22 Edmonton win at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario. Demski had a 22-yard touchdown catch from Zach Collaros at 6:54 of the first quarter to open the scoring in a 20-11 Winnipeg Blue Bombers win over the British Columbia Lions at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia on Sunday.

Demski finished the game with six catches for 109 receiving yards. In 10 games this season, Demski has 42 catches for 567 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Demski’s other touchdown came in a 41-37 Blue Bombers win over the Calgary Stampeders on July 12.

Gittens Jr. had four catches for 35 receiving yards and one major score. Gittens Jr. has 54 catches this season for 465 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

In the CFL’s West Division, the Blue Bombers improved to a record of four wins and six losses. They are in a third place tie with the Calgary Stampeders. The Elks have now won three straight games and are 3-7.
