New Brunswick wins men’s synchronized trampoline gold at 2023 Canada Winter Games

New Brunswick has won their first gold medal at the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. On Monday in the summer sport of men’s synchronized trampoline, the Canadian team of Eric Davis and Dexter Richard of Fredericton posted a winning score of 43.27 points. Saskatchewan won the silver medal with 42.36 points and Alberta won the bronze medal with 42.11 points. New Brunswick earned a medal by 1.41 points over Manitoba, which had a fourth place score of 41.86 points.

It should be noted that there are 10 summer sports in the Canada Winter Games. In addition to gymnastics, athletes compete in archery, badminton, boxing, fencing, judo, karate, squash, tennis, and wheelchair basketball.

This is the first time that karate is taking place at the Canada Winter Games. Haruki Mori of Nanaimo, British Columbia won the gold medal in the men’s kata and Oonah Gamboa of Vancouver, British Columbia won the gold medal in the women’s kata. British Columbia leads the overall medal standings with four gold medals and nine medals overall. On Sunday, in the first day of competition, Canada’s most western province won two gold medals in the aerials. In addition to four gold medals, British Columbia has won two silver medals and three bronze medals.
