Nathan Rourke of Victoria, British Columbia continued to have his outstanding 2022 Canadian Football League regular season on Friday. At Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Rourke completed 22 of 31 passes for 375 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions as the Lions defeated the Saskatchewan Roughriders 28-10. He also had three rushes for 63 yards.
Rourke’s first touchdown was for 90 yards to Lucky Whitehead with one minute and 58 seconds left in the first half and put the Lions up 20-3. Rourke then had an 11 yard touchdown pass to Bryan Burnham at 4:44 of the third quarter to put the Lions up 27-10.
On the season, Rourke has now completed 248 passes in 313 attempts for 3281 yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also has 39 carries for 304 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. The Lions are second in the West at eight wins and one loss.
Two more Canadians recorded touchdowns on winning teams this past weekend. On Friday, Ante Milanovic-Litre of Vancouver, British Columbia had a two-yard run with three minutes and 53 seconds left in the third quarter as the Elks defeated the Ottawa Redblacks 30-12. At the time Milanovic-Litre’s touchdown put the Elks up 22-12.
Milanovic-Litre finished the game with 13 carries for 53 yards, and two catches for 12 yards. On the season, he has 36 rushes for 169 yards, and eight catches for 45 yards.
On Saturday, Kaion Julien-Grant of Toronto, Ontario had three catches for 74 yards for the Montreal Alouettes in a 29-28 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Julien-Grant’s touchdown catch was for 54 yards with three minutes and 40 seconds into the third quarter, which put the Alouettes up 17-11 at the time. Julien-Grant now has 17 catches for 322 yards and two touchdowns this season.
