Nathan Rourke leads Lions to Week 7 win over the Tiger-Cats

Nathan Rourke of Victoria, British Columbia continues to be a difference maker when it comes to quarterbacking the British Columbia Lions. On Thursday, Rourke completed 22 of 30 passes for 250 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, as the Lions defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 17-12. He also had four rushes for eight yards. With the win, the Lions improved to a record of four wins and one loss and are in a second place tie in the Canadian Football League West Division with a record of four wins and one loss.

Rourke’s first touchdown pass was to Jevon Cottoy for 14 yards and put the Lions up 9-3 with five minutes and 47 seconds left in the second quarter. His second touchdown pass was to Lucky Whitehead for 33 yards. The major put the Lions up 16-6 with six minutes and 41 seconds left in the third quarter.

For the season, Rourke has completed 126 passes in 160 attempts for 14 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also has 19 rushes for 188 yards and three touchdowns.

In other CFL news on Monday, the Ottawa RedBlacks have traded wide receiver Llevi Noel of Toronto, Ontario to the Edmonton Elks for a seventh round pick in the 2023 CFL Draft. This will be Noel’s third CFL franchise as he was with the Toronto Argonauts for six seasons prior to the Redblacks this year. In 72 CFL games, he has 82 catches for 869 yards and four touchdowns.
