
The Professional Women’s Hockey League will have an all-Canadian final for the first time ever. On Tuesday we found out that the Ottawa Charge will play the Montreal Victoire in the 2026 Walter Cup Finals.
The Victoire were supposed to play the Minnesota Frost on Monday night in the fifth and deciding game of the PWHL semifinals from Place Bell in Laval, Quebec. However, the game was postponed 24 hours because of illnesses.
In game five on Tuesday, the Victoire defeated the Minnesota Frost 2-1 to win the series three games to two. The Victoire goal scorers were Catherine Dubois of Quebec City, Quebec and Canadian Olympic gold medalist Marie-Philip Poulin of Beauceville, Quebec. Poulin scored the game-winning goal at 3:06 of the third period from Canadian Olympic gold medalist Erin Ambrose of Keswick, Ontario and Nicole Gosling of London, Ontario. Gosling and Ambrose are defenders.The goal by Poulin broke a 1-1 deadlock and was her second point of the game as she had an assist on the goal by Dubois at 12:18 of the first period.
Poulin won a gold medal for Canada at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, and the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. She also teamed up with Ambrose to win gold at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.
