
Canadian Olympic gold medalist Mikael Kingsbury of Val St. Come, Quebec won a gold medal in a men’s World Cup moguls event on Friday. For Kingsbury it was his 109th World Cup medal and 84th gold medal in World Cup competition.
Kingsbury posted a score of 85.37 points. Walter Wallberg of Sweden won the silver medal with a score of 81.69 points. Ikuma Horishima of Japan won the bronze medal with a score of 81.36 points. Kingsbury earned a medal by 4.55 points over Nick Page of the United States, who was in fourth place with a score of 80.82 points.
It was one of two World Cup medals for Kingsbury on the weekend as he also won a silver medal in dual moguls on Saturday. Walter Wallberg of Sweden won the gold medal and Filip Gravenfors of Sweden won the bronze medal. En route to the final, Kingsbury beat Louis-David Chalifoux of Toronto, Ontario, Cole McDonald of the United States, and Filip Gravenfors of Sweden.
In the World Cup moguls standings, Kingsbury is the leader with 360 points. Ikuma Horishima of Japan is in second with 290 points. In the World Cup dual moguls, Kingsbury is in third with 182 points. Wallberg leads with 205 points. Dual moguls will make it Olympic debut at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo. Kingsbury won his gold medal in moguls at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang.
