
Megan Oldham of Newmarket, Ontario won the bronze medal in women’s slopestyle skiing at the 2025 World Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Championships in Engadin, Switzerland on Friday. This was Oldham’s fourth career medal at the World Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Championships. She previously won silver in women’s slopestyle skiing at the 2023 World Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Championships in Bakuriani, Georgia, bronze in women’s slopestyle skiing at the 2021 World Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Championships in Aspen, Colorado, and bronze in women’s big air skiing in 2023 in Bakuriani.
In the women’s slopestyle skiing event in Engadin on Friday, Oldham posted a third place score of 70.63 points. Mathilde Gremaud of Switzerland won the gold medal with a score of 85.65 points. Lara Wolf of Austria won the silver medal with a score of 73.33 points. Oldham reached the podium by 4.29 points over Flora Tabanelli of Italy, who had a fourth place score of 66.34 points.
Oldham has won the most medals for Canada in women’s slopestyle skiing in the history of the World Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Championships, as she now has won three. Kaya Turski of Montreal, Quebec won gold in 2013 in Voss, Norway, and silver in 2011 in Deer Valley, Utah. Meanwhile, Canadian Olympic gold medalist Dara Howell of Huntsville, Ontario won silver in Voss. Howell won Olympic gold at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. The bronze medal or Oldham will give her confidence as she prepares for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
