In the World Cup women’s aerials standings, Thenault is in sixth place with 207 points. Xu leads with 380 points.

This was the fifth World Cup of the season, as the first four events were all in Ruka, Finland. However, there is only one more World Cup event in women’s aerials prior to the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. That will take place in Deer Valley, Utah on January 12.

Thenault’s first World Cup medal was a bronze in Moscow on January 23, 2021. That was followed by a gold medal in Almaty, Kazakhstan on March 13, 2021. The silver medal for Thenault will give her confidence as she prepares for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.
