The Kitchener Rangers are in the final of the 2026 Memorial Cup in Kelowna, British Columbia. On Tuesday, the Rangers defeated the Chicoutimi Sagueneens by a score of 3-2 to advance to the championship game with a record of three wins and zero losses.

The Rangers won the game despite being outshot by the Sagueneens 13-3 in the third period and 28-18 in the entire game. One area where the Rangers need to work on is their power-play. They were unable to score with more than a five-minute man advantage in the third period. For one minute and 28 seconds, the Rangers had a two-man advantage.

Three Rangers players had a multi-point game. Captain Sam O’Reilly of Toronto, Ontario, and Jack Pridham of Stouffville, Ontario, each had one goal and one assist for two points. Dylan Edwards of Toronto had two assists. Meanwhile, centre Luca Romano of Toronto had the other Rangers goal.

It will now be interesting to see who Kitchener will play in the final. It could be the Quebec champion Chicoutimi again, the host Kelowna Rockets or the Western champion Everett Silvertips. The Rockets play the Silvertips on Wednesday night to finish the round robin. An Everett win and the Silvertips will play the Sagueneens in the semifinal on Friday. A Rockets win and there will be a three-way tie for second place, and this means there will be a tiebreaker on Thursday.
