The Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Cleveland Browns 27-10 on Sunday from Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland, Ohio. It was a significant day for Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer of Toronto, Ontario, as he came away with his first touchdown of the 2024 National Football League season.

Palmer had a 28 yard touchdown catch from Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert to open the scoring. The major score came with six minutes and 49 seconds left in the first quarter.

On the season, Palmer has 17 catches for 306 receiving yards and one touchdown. The 63 yards were tied for the second most number of receiving yards Palmer has had in a game this season. Palmer also had 63 receiving yards in a 17-15 Chargers loss to the Arizona Cardinals on October 21. The most number of receiving yards Palmer has had in a single game this season was 72 yards in a 26-8 Chargers win over the New Orleans Saints on October 27.

This was Palmer’s 10th career touchdown catch. However, it was only his third touchdown the came in a Chargers win. The first touchdown in a Chargers win came in a 37-21 Chargers win over the New York Giants on December 12, 2021 (for 12 yards from Herbert and put the Chargers up 14-7 with 12 minutes and seven seconds left in the second quarter), and the second touchdown in a Chargers win came in a 28-24 Chargers win over the Minnesota Vikings on September 24, 2023 (game-winning touchdown for 30 yards from Herbert with eight minutes and five seconds left in the fourth quarter).

With the win, the Chargers improved to a record of five wins and three losses. They are in second place in the AFC West, and hold down the second of three AFC wildcard spots.
