Jamal Murray of Kitchener, Ontario made the game-winning shot for the Denver Nuggets with nine-tenths of a second left on Thursday as the Denver Nuggets beat the Portland Trail Blazers 121-120. Murray’s game-winning shot came from 24 feet and the Nuggets trailing the Trail Blazers 120-118 at the time.
Murray finished the game with 21 points, the ninth time this season he has had 20 points or more. He also had eight assists, five rebounds, and one steal. Murray made eight of 21 field goals, three of 10 three-point shots, and two of three free throws. He was also a +16, and was the only Nuggets player who was a plus.
In 2022-23, Murray is averaging 17.8 points per game, 5.1 assists per game, 3.7 rebounds per game, and one steal per game. He has a field goal percentage of .429, three-point percentage of .357, and a free throw percentage of .776. This is Murray’s first full NBA season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament during the 2020-21 NBA season, which forced him to miss the entire 2021-22 NBA season.
Expectations are high for the Nuggets this season. They are currently in fourth place in the Western Conference with a record of 15 wins and 10 losses. However, they are only one game and a half of the first place New Orleans Pelicans in the West.
