Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman is the lone Canadian in the 2024 World Series. Even though he is California born, Freeman is a Canadian citizen and represents Canada internationally because his parents are Ontario born.

Freeman is battling an ankle ailment, and did not play for the Dodgers in game six of the National League Championship Series against the New York Mets. In eight postseason games leading up to the World Series, Freeman has seven hits in 32 at bats, and batting .219. He also has scored one run, one run batted in, one stolen base, one walk, and seven total bases.

This is Freeman’s second World Series. Three years ago, he was victorious with the Atlanta Braves. In six games against the Houston Astros, Freeman batted .318, with seven hits in 22 at bats, two runs scored, one double, two home runs, five runs batted in, two walks, 14 total bases, one sacrifice fly, an on base percentage of .360, and a slugging percentage of .636.

During the 2024 World Series, Freeman is expected to bat third in the Dodgers lineup. He will be hitting behind Japanese phoenom Shohei Ohtani, and two-time World Series champion Mookie Betts. Freeman is also expected to hit in front of former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez.
