Four notable Canadians in 2023 NBA Playoffs

The 2023 National Basketball Association playoffs commences on Saturday, and there will be four Canadians participating who averaged a minimum of 10 points per game during the 2022-23 NBA regular season. They are Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets, RJ Barrett of the New York Knicks, Dillon Brooks of the Memphis Grizzlies and Andrew Wiggins of the Golden State Warriors.

Murray of Kitchener, Ontario, averaged 20 points per game, 6.2 assists per game, and four rebounds per game in 2022-23. He has a field goal percentage of .454, free throw percentage of .833 and a three-point percentage of .398. The Nuggets play the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference quarterfinals.

Barrett of Toronto, Ontario, averaged 19.6 points per game, five rebounds per game, and 2.8 assists per game in 2022-23. He has a field goal percentage of .434, three-point percentage of .310, and free throw percentage of .740. The Knicks play the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

Wiggins of Toronto averaged 17.1 points per game, five rebounds per game, 2.3 assists per game, and 1.2 steals per game in 2022-23. He has a field goal percentage of .473, three-point percentage of .396, and a free throw percentage of .611. The Warriors are playing the Sacramento Kings in the Western Conference quarterfinals.

Brooks of Mississauga, Ontario averaged 14.3 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game, and 2.6 assists per game in 2022-23. He has a field goal percentage of .396, free throw percentage of .779, and three-point percentage of .326. The Grizzlies will play the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference quarterfinals.
