Eight Canadians win 2026 Stanley Cup

The 2026 Stanley Cup was determined on Sunday night in Paradise, Nevada as the Carolina Hurricanes blanked the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0. With the win, the Hurricanes won the best out of seven series four games to two and won their second Stanley Cup in franchise history. They previously beat the Edmonton Oilers in seven games in the 2006 Stanley Cup Final.

In all, there were eight Canadians on the Hurricanes that won the 2026 Stanley Cup. They were left winger William Carrier of LaSalle, Quebec, left winger Taylor Hall of Calgary, Alberta, centre Mark Jankowski of Hamilton, Ontario, centre Seth Jarvis of Winnipeg, Manitoba, left winger Jordan Martinook of Brandon, Manitoba, centre Jordan Staal of Thunder Bay, Ontario, centre Logan Stankoven of Kamloops, British Columbia, and defenseman Sean Walker of Keswick, Ontario.

Hall had seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points, and led all players in the postseason with a +14. Stankoven led all Hurricanes players in the postseason with 11 goals and had five assists for 16 points. Stankoven also led all players in the postseason with three game-winning goals, and led the Hurricanes with nine even strength postseason goals and 55 shots on goal in the playoffs. Staal had eight goals and four assists for 12 points. He also led the Hurricanes in the postseason with one shorthanded point, and 235 faceoff wins. Jarvis had four goals and seven assists for 11 points. Jankowski had one goal and four assists for five points. Martinook had two goals and three assists for five points and led the Hurricanes with one shorthanded postseason point. Carrier had four assists for four points and led the Hurricanes with 91 postseason hits. Walker had three assists for three points.
