The Edmonton Oilers continue to comeback in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. On Tuesday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Oilers came back from a 2-0 deficit against the Vegas Golden Knights en route to a game one 4-2 victory in the first game of the Western Conference semi-finals. The Oilers made National Hockey League history in the process. They were the first team ever to have five straight come from behind wins in a single postseason.
The previous four Oilers come from behind wins in the playoffs were against the Los Angeles Kings. The Oilers were down 4-3 in game three of the first round on April 25, before winning 7-4; 3-1 in game four of the first round on April 27, before winning 4-3; 1-0 in game five of the first round on April 29, before winning 3-1; and 2-1 in game six of the first round on May 1, before winning 6-4.
The Oilers showed excellent team defense on Tuesday as they limited the Golden Knights to one second period shot. Meanwhile, offensively Connor McDavid of Richmond Hill, Ontario and defenseman Evan Bouchard of Oakville, Ontario led the Oilers in scoring with two assists for two points. Meanwhile, three Canadians scored for the Oilers. They were Canadian Olympic gold medalist Corey Perry of Peterborough, Ontario, Zach Hyman of Toronto, Ontario, and Connor Brown of Toronto. Perry won a gold medal for Canada at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
