The ninth week of the Canadian Football League regular season is now complete and two Canadians recorded touchdowns for the Calgary Stampeders on Saturday. They were wide receiver Dejon Brissett of Mississauga, Ontario and quarterback Quincy Vaughn of Brantford, Ontario. The Stampeders defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 44-20 at Hamilton Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario.
Brissett’s touchdown catch was 43 receiving yards from quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. At the time, the Stampeders went up 7-3 at six minutes and 26 seconds into the first quarter. Brissett finished the game leading the Stampeders in receptions (six), and receiving yards (109). For the season, Brissett has 22 catches for 377 receiving yards and five touchdown catches.
Vaughn had a four-yard touchdown run with two minutes and 56 seconds left in the game. He put the Stampeders up 37-20 at the time. Vaughn finished the game with two rushes for six yards. For the season, Vaughn has 20 rushes for 38 rushing yards and six touchdown rushes. Vaughn also has 12 touchdown rushes over the last two seasons. Also in 2026, Vaughn has one catch for eight yards.
With the win, the Stampeders improved to a record of four wins and four losses. They are in a third place tie with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the West Division.
