It is definitely an intriguing day from a Canadian standpoint at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. All the focus will be in the women’s hammer throw as Camryn Rogers of Richmond, British Columbia is a medal contender. Rogers is the reigning world champion and Commonwealth Games champion. However, she did not post the best throw in qualification. Her throw of 74.69 metres was second to Finland’s Krista Tervo, who had a throw of 74.79 metres.

Canada will have a medal contender in the women’s 10 metre platform diving as Caeli McKay of Calgary, Alberta won a bronze medal in the event at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan. Meanwhile, in the women’s park skateboarding, Fay De Fazio Ebert of Toronto, Ontario is the reigning Pan American Games gold medalist. Finally, Canada is in the quarterfinals in women’s water polo and men’s basketball where they will play Spain and France respectively.
