
Chuba Hubbard of Edmonton, Alberta had a sensational game on the ground on Sunday night in a 32-26 Carolina Panthers win over the Detroit Lions. He had touchdown runs of 15 yards and two yards.
Hubbard’s 15-yard touchdown run was his first touchdown of the game. It put the Panthers up 7-3 with one minute and 50 seconds left in the first quarter. Hubbard then had a two-yard touchdown run with two minutes and 47 seconds left in the third quarter to put the Panthers up 29-19 at the time.
Hubbard had 20 rushes for 122 rushing yards and two touchdowns, along with one catch for seven receiving yards. Hubbard was one of three Panthers players with notable games. Quarterback Bryce Young had 329 passing yards and two touchdown passes, and wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan had 14 catches for 192 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
In 2026, Hubbard has 61 rushes for 306 rushing yards and three touchdown runs. He also has 10 catches for 84 receiving yards and two touchdown catches.
With the win, the Panthers improved to a record of two wins and two losses, and are temporarily in first place all by themselves in the NFC South. Carolina will be tied for first after Monday however, as the winner of the game Monday night between the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons will also be in first place.
