The Ottawa Charge have taken a two games to one series lead over the Boston Fleet in the 2026 Professional Women’s Hockey League semifinals. On Friday, the Charge defeated the Fleet 2-1 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. The Charge now have an opportunity to close out the best of five series on Sunday afternoon in the nation’s capital.

The Charge got goals from Fanuza Kadirova and Ronja Savolainen. Kadirova had a multi-point game as she had one goal and one assist for two points. One Canadian generated a point for the Charge. Michela Cava of Thunder Bay, Ontario had a primary assist on the game-winning goal by Savolainen.

Ottawa’s game-winning goal with 29 seconds left in the game was crazy indeed. It came off a shot from the point by Savolainen that hit the back of the boards. The puck then came out in front of the net and hit the goalie pad of Aerin Frankel and passed the goal line and into the net.

Meanwhile in Minnesota, the Frost defeated the Montreal Victoire by a score of 3-1 on Friday. This best out of five series is tied at two and now shifts back to Canada with a fifth and deciding game at Place Bell in Laval, Quebec on Monday night.
