Carey Price of Vancouver, British Columbia recorded his fourth National Hockey League shutout of the season on Saturday and 48th of his career. Price made 30 saves as the Montreal Canadiens beat the Ottawa Senators 3-0 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata, Ontario.

Price made eight saves in the first period, 12 saves in the second period and 10 saves in the third period. Anthony Duclair of Pointe-Claire, Quebec led the Senators with five shots on goal.

Offensively, two Canadians on the Canadiens had multi-point games. Max Domi of Winnipeg, Manitoba scored two goals and Paul Byron of Ottawa, Ontario notched one goal and one assist for two points. Domi scored the game winning goal from Byron at 1:13 of the first period.

Interestingly, Ilya Kovalchuk registered an assist on a goal by Byron with 2:02 left in the third period. It would be Kovalchuk’s last point with the Canadiens as he was traded to the Washington Capitals for a third round draft pick in the 2020 National Hockey League Entry Draft on Sunday.

In 53 games, Price has a record of 26 wins, 22 regulation losses and five losses in extra time. Price has four shutouts, a save percentage of .912 and a goals against average of 2.71. He also leads the NHL with 1464 saves.

The Canadiens have a record of 29 wins, 27 regulation losses and eight losses in extra time for 66 points. They trail the Toronto Maple Leafs by six points for a playoff spot.
