Team Canada has won its first two games of the 2022 Women’s 3×3 Basketball World Cup in Antwerp, Belgium. On Tuesday, the Canadian team of Michelle and Katherine Plouffe of Edmonton, Alberta, Kacie Bosch of Lethbridge, Alberta, and Paige Crozon of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, defeated Chile 21-10, and then Israel 22-5.
In Canada’s win over Chile, Bosch led Canada with seven points. Katherine Plouffe had six points, while Michelle Plouffe and Crozon had four points each. Katherine Plouffe led Canada with five rebounds and three key assists. Crozon led Canada with two two-point shots made.
In Canada’s win over Israel, Crozon led Canada with 11 points. Bosch and Michelle Plouffe had five points each, while Katherine Plouffe had one point. Despite only scoring one basket, Katherine Plouffe did lead Canada with seven rebounds, while the Plouffe sisters and Crozon each had two key assists to lead the Canadians. Finally, in the two-point shots made category, Crozon led Team Canada with four.
It is interesting that Canada was the 13th seed to enter the tournament, while Israel was the 11th seed. You can basically throw the seeds out the window, because Canada was dominant in this contest, and it was not even remotely close. The Canadians will play the Netherlands and Spain on Thursday.
