Team Canada has qualified for the 2024 World Men’s Curling Championships in Schauffhausen, Switzerland. At the 2023 Pan Continental Curling Championship at the Kelowna Curling Club in Kelowna, British Columbia, Team Canada won the gold medal. The top five teams from the 2023 Pan Continental Curling Championship qualified for the 2024 World Men’s Curling Championships.
The Canadian men’s curling team comprised of Canadian Olympic gold medalists Brad Gushue (skip) and third Mark Nichols (third), who both hail from St. John’s, Newfoundland, and second E.J. Harnden of Sault. Ste. Marie, Ontario, along with lead Geoff Walker of Beaverlodge, Alberta. Gushue and Nichols won the gold medal for Canada at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, while Harnden won the gold medal at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
In the final, Canada beat South Korea 8-3. In the final, Canada stole two points in the sixth end, and two points again in the seventh end. After the fifth end, Canada and South Korea were tied at two points each. After seven ends, Canada had a 6-2 lead.
This was the second consecutive year Gushue led Canada to a gold medal at the Pan Continental Curling Championship. Last year in Calgary, Alberta, Canada clobbered South Korea in the gold medal game by a score of 11-3.
