Canada beats United States and Turkiye at Women’s World Curling Championships

Team Canada has improved to a record of five wins and one loss at the 2025 Women’s World Curling Championships in Uijeongbu, South Korea. On Tuesday, Canada came through with an 8-4 win over the United States and an 8-3 win over Turkiye.

In the Canadian win over the United States, the Canadian team skipped by Rachel Homan, posted three ends with multiple points with the hammer. She had two points in the second end, fourth end, and eighth end. The Canadians also had marvelous defense as they forced the Americans to take a single point four times when they had the hammer.

In the Canadian win over Turkiye, the key end was the eighth end. Canada had a narrow lead with the hammer after seven ends, and then blew things wide open with three points in the final end of play. Homan made two impressive double takeouts to take an 8-3 lead.

Switzerland is the only team undefeated as they have a perfect record of six wins and zero losses. One of their wins came against South Korea’s Eun-ji Gim on Tuesday by a score of 9-6. Gim will be Canada’s next opponent on Tuesday evening in Canada and Wednesday morning in South Korea.
