Brooke Henderson leads LPGA Tournament of Champions after round two

Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ontario leads after the second round of the 2023 LPGA Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions from Orlando, Florida. In the results from the first 36 holes, Henderson shot a score of -11.

Henderson leads Nelly Korda of the United States by four strokes. Henderson and Korda are both major champions. Henderson won the 2016 Women’s PGA Championship and the 2022 Evian Championship. Korda won the 2021 Women’s PGA Championship.

On Thursday in the first round, Henderson had six birdies and one bogey to finish the round at -5. He birdied the second, fifth, eighth, 10th, 14th, and 18th holes, and bogeyed the 17th hole. On Friday, Henderson had six birdies. She birdied the second, third, fourth, fifth, 12th and 15th holes.

Henderson qualified for the 2023 LPGA Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions by winning a tournament on the LPGA Tour over the last two calendar years. Since January of 2021, Henderson has won three times. In addition to winning the 2022 Evian Championship, she won the 2021 Hegel-Air Premia Los Angeles Open, and the 2022 ShopRite LPGA Classic in Galloway, New Jersey. When Henderson won in Los Angeles two years ago, she defeated Jessica Korda by one stroke. Jessica Korda is the older sister of Nelly Korda by five years.
