Brooke Henderson in contention at the 2024 Honda LPGA Thailand

Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls. Ontario is in contention after the second round of the 2024 Honda LPGA Thailand. She is at -7 and three strokes back of the leaders, Patty Tavatanakit of Thailand, Madelene Sagstrom of Sweden, and Sei Young Kim of South Korea, who are tied for first place at -10.

Three more players are tied for fourth place at -9. There you can find Albane Valenzuela of Switzerland, Hyo-joo Kim of South Korea and Jaravee Boonchant of Thailand. In seventh place are three golfers at -8. Those are Esther Henseleit of Germany, Ayaka Furue of Japan, and Peiyun Chien of Taiwan. In 10th place are six other golfers alongside Henderson. They are Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand, Danielle Kang and Elizabeth Szokol of the United States, Chistao Iwai of Japan, Xiyu Lin of China, and Leona Maguire of Ireland.

Henderson is a two-time major champion as she won the 2016 Women’s PGA Championship and 2022 Evian Championship. Other major winners in contention are Tavatanakit (2021 ANA Inspiration), Sei Young Kim (2020 Women’s PGA Championship), Hyo-joo Kim (2014 Evian Championship), Jutanugarn (2016 Women’s British Open and 2018 United States Women’s Open), and Kang (2017 Women’s PGA Championship).

In the first round, Henderson had five birdies and zero bogeys. She birdied the seventh, ninth, 13th, 16th and 18th holes. In the second round, Henderson had four birdies and two bogeys. She birdied the fifth, sixth, 11th and 18th holes, and bogeyed the second and 13th holes.
