The St. Louis Blues have signed defenseman Pierre-Olivier Joseph of Laval, Quebec. The terms of the contract are for one year and $950,000 according to capfriendly.com.
Joseph has played the last four seasons with the Penguins. In 2023-24, he had two goals and nine assists for 11 points. Joseph was a -3 with 14 penalty minutes, one game-winning goal, 42 shots on goal, 44 blocked shots, 47 hits, 22 takeaways and 20 giveaways.
Joseph’s game-winning goal came on April 4, 2024 in a 4-1 Penguins win over the Washington Capitals. At 11:03 of the first period, Joseph scored from two-time All-Star Kris Letang of Montreal, Quebec and Drew O’Connor. At the time, the Penguins went up 2-0.
On Tuesday, the Blues acquired Pierre-Oliver Joseph’s older brother Mathieu Joseph in a trade. This past season Mathieu Joseph had 11 goals and 24 assists for 35 points with the Ottawa Senators. He was then traded to the Blues with a third round pick in the 2025 National Hockey League Entry Draft for future considerations.
