After the first two days at the 2022 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ontario, there are two teams undefeated at three wins and zero losses. They are Andrea Crawford, who is representing New Brunswick, and Kerri Einarson, who is representing Team Canada as the defending champion, who have each looked strong so far. They are joined by a third undefeated team, as Manitoba’s Mackenzie Zacharias is at two wins and zero losses.

Crawford is in the Scotties for the 10th time, but for the first time has a record of 3-0. To date, New Brunswick has beaten two of the wildcard teams and Nunavut. The 6-3 New Brunswick win over Nunavut is not surprising, but the wins over the wildcard teams were. Now one must realize, that one wildcard team does not have Tracy Fleury because she is out with coronavirus (won by Crawford 6-5), and the other wildcard team does not have Rachel Homan because she is set to compete for Canada at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing in mixed doubles with John Morris (won by Crawford 7-2).

Einarson meanwhile gave up two points in the first end of their first match against Ontario’s Hollie Duncan, but came back to win 12-5. She also defeated Nova Scotia’s Christina Black 6-3, and Quebec’s Laurie St-Georges 8-5. Manitoba’s wins have come over British Columbia’s Mary-Anne Arsenault 6-5, and Yukon’s Hailey Birnie, 12-3.
