According to 3downnation.com on Saturday, the Montreal Alouettes have signed wide receiver Nate Behar of London, Ontario. The Alouettes become the third Canadian Football League team Behar has played for as he was previously with the Edmonton Eskimos for two seasons from 2017 to 2018, and then the Ottawa Redblacks for four seasons from 2019 to 2023.

This past season with the Redblacks, Behar had 39 catches for 334 receiving yards and one touchdown. The touchdown came in a 43-41 Redblacks overtime win over the Calgary Stampeders at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Alberta on July 23, 2023. Behar’ major score was a 23-yard touchdown catch from Redblacks quarterback Dustin Crum with one minute and 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter. At the time, the Redblacks took a 35-32 lead.

In Behar’s career, he has 179 catches for 1926 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 90 CFL regular season games. He also has two rushes for three rushing yards.

The signing of Behar came during a time when the Alouettes were on their bye week. Montreal, which are the defending Grey Cup champions, lead the East Division with a record of five wins and one loss for 10 points. Montreal’s only loss came on July 11 when they were beaten 37-18 by the Toronto Argonauts. Montreal next plays the 5-1 Saskatchewan Roughriders on Thursday.
