2021 Quebec International Pee Wee Hockey Tournament cancelled because of coronavirus

The 2021 Quebec International Pee Wee Hockey Tournament has been cancelled because of coronavirus according to the Canadian Press. The tournament was to take place from February 10-21, 2021 at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City.

The pee wee tournament is known as one of the most prestigious junior hockey tournaments in the world. It is played by minor hockey league players 12 years of age or younger, and held at the same time as the Quebec Winter Carnival. The 2020 Pee Wee AAA champions were the Los Angeles Jr. Kings, as they defeated the Czech Knights 4-1 in the final.

There have been several notable participants in the tournament over the years. They include Canadians Wayne Gretzky, Eric Lindros, Gilbert Perreault, Guy Lafleur, Marcel Dionne, Mike Bossy, Mike Gartner, Denis Savard, Paul Coffey, Adam Oates, Ron Francis, Scott Stevens, Steve Yzerman, Mario Lemieux, Patrick Roy, Brendan Shanahan, and Eric Lindros. Perreault, Lafleur, and Dionne each played in the tournament three times. Perreault was with Victoriaville from 1961 to 1963, while Lafleur and Dionne each played from 1962 to 1964. Lafleur was with Rockland/Thurso, while Dionne was with Drummondville.

What Lafleur was able to accomplish at the Quebec Pee Wee Tournament over the years was phenomenal. In three seasons, he scored 64 goals.
