In his first three games of March Madness, Edey has scored 80 points and had 49 rebounds. He is averaging 26.7 points per game and 16.3 rebounds per game. According to CBS Sports, Edey is only the second National Collegiate Athletic Association men’s basketball player in March Madness since 1985 to go through the first three games of the tournament with 80+ points and 40+ rebounds. The other player is Blake Griffin of Oklahoma, who had 91 points and 44 rebounds through the first three March Madness games in 2009.
So far during the 2024 March Madness play, Edey had 30 points and 21 rebounds in a 78-50 Purdue first round win over Grambling on March 22 from Indianapolis, Indiana, had 23 points and 14 rebounds in a 106-67 Purdue second round win over Utah State in Indianapolis on March 24, and 27 points and 14 rebounds in an 80-68 Purdue win over Gonzaga in Sweet Sixteen action from Detroit, Michigan on Friday.
On Sunday in the elite eight from Detroit, Purdue, the first seed in the Midwest Region, faces Tennessee. Purdue has a record of 32 wins and four losses, while Tennessee has a record of 27 wins and eight losses.
