According to the Canadian Press on Wednesday, Victoria, British Columbia will host a Canadian Football League regular season game on Saturday, August 31, 2024. The game will feature the British Columbia Lions and Ottawa Redblacks, and be touted as “Touchdown Pacific.”

The game will take place at Royal Athletic Park in the capital city of British Columbia. If you can include standing room, the complex has a capacity of 14,000.

The stadium is used primarily for baseball at the moment. It hosts the Victoria HarbourCats of the West Coast League, and the Victoria Collegiate Golden Tide of the Canadian College Baseball Conference.

This will be the first time ever that there is a CFL game in Victoria. There have been six Touchdown Atlantic regular season games in the CFL since 2010. The complexes that have been used are the Croix-Bleue Medavie Stadium in Moncton, New Brunswick, Raymond Field in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Huskies Stadium in Halifax.

Last season, the Lions finished in second place in the West Division with a record of 12 wins and six losses. They then beat the Calgary Stampeders 41-30 in the Western Division semi-final, before losing 24-13 to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Western Final. The Redblacks were last in the East at four wins and 14 losses.
