Victoria Mboko of Burlington, Ontario reached the final of the 2026 Strasbourg International on Saturday. There she lost, 6-0, 5-7, 6-2 to 2024 United States Open semifinalist Emma Navarro of the United States. This was Mboko’s second final of 2026. She also lost 6-4, 7-5 to 2023 French Open finalist Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic at the Qatar Open in February.

In Strasbourg this past week, Mboko got a bye to the second round as she was the number one seed. She then beat Lois Boisson of France 6-4, 6-3 in the second round, beat fellow Canadian, 2021 United States Open finalist, and seventh seed Leylah Annie Fernandez of Montreal, Quebec, 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinals, and beat Jaqueline Cristian of Romania 7-6, 3-6, 6-2 in the semifinals.

This was the second time a Canadian reached the final of the Strasbourg International. In 1987, Carling Bassett-Seguso of Toronto, Ontario, beat Sandra Cecchini of Italy, 6-3, 6-4 in the final.

Mboko will be one of five Canadians competing in singles action at the French Open. The others are Fernandez, Felix Auger-Aliassime of Montreal, Gabriel Diallo of Montreal, and Denis Shapovalov of Toronto.

Diallo is the lone Canadian in action on Sunday as the French Open commences from Roland Garros. He will be first on Court 12 (3 am MT) against Australian James Duckworth. This will be their second ever meeting head-to-head. Duckworth beat Diallo 7-6, 6-7, 6-2 in the second round of the 2025 Almaty Open in Kazakhstan.
