
Victoria Mboko of Burlington, Ontario and Felix Auger-Aliassime of Montreal, Quebec are in the second round of the 2026 French Open. Mboko defeated Nikola Bartunkova of the Czech Republic in singles action 6-1, 6-2, and Felix Auger-Aliassime of Montreal, Quebec defeated Daniel Altmaier of Germany, 4-6, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6.
Auger-Aliassime, the fourth seed on the men’s side, did not have the lead in the match until the opening point of the fifth set tiebreak. In the tiebreak, Auger-Aliassime beat Altmaier 10-7.
This was Auger-Aliassime’s third straight win over Altmaier, after losing their first two meetings head-to-head. Auger-Aliassime also beat Altmaier 6-3, 6-3 in the first round of Hamburg in 2025, and by a score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the third round of the Paris Indoor in 2025. Meanwhile, it was the first time Mboko faced Bartunkova.
Auger-Aliassime had the statistical advantage over Altmaier when it came to the serve. Auger-Aliassime had nine aces and six double faults. Altmaier had three aces and seven double faults.
Mboko, the ninth seed, dominated Bartunkova. Mboko broke Bartunkova six times and had the service statistical advantage. Mboko had three aces and two double faults, and Bartunkova had zero aces and four double faults.
