History was made in the National Basketball Association on Wednesday. For the first time ever, two Canadians reached the 30 point plateau in the same game as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 137-121 at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee. Andrew Wiggins of Thornhill, Ontario led the Timberwolves with 30 points, while Dillon Brooks of Mississauga, Ontario led the Grizzlies with 31 points.

Brooks played 30 minutes and successfully shot nine of 16 field goals. He also had five three-pointers in seven attempts, was a perfect eight for eight in free throw attempts, was a +10 on the court, had four rebounds, three turnovers and two assists.

Wiggins played 34 minutes, and successfully shot 11 of 21 field goals. He also had three three-pointers, five free throws, six assists, two rebounds, two steals, one blocked shot and three turnovers.

Brooks and Wiggins were not the only Canadians in double digits. Grizzlies rookie power forward Brandon Clarke of Vancouver, British Columbia also had 18 points.

Even though Wiggins was strong offensively, he still needs to work on his defense. He was a -11 in the game.

The Grizzlies improved to a record of two wins and five losses with the win. The Timberwolves dropped to a record of four wins and three losses. Memphis’s next game is in Orlando on Friday, while Minnesota next hosts Golden State, also on Friday.
