Toronto Rock reach 2026 NLL Cup Finals

The Toronto Rock have advanced to the 2026 National Lacrosse League Cup Finals. On Saturday, the Toronto Rock defeated the San Diego Seals 14-8 from the Toronto Dominion Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario, and won the best out of three NLL semifinals two games to one. The game was rather intense as it was an elimination game for both teams in the NLL playoffs.

It wa a strong game for Rock transition player Sam English of Burlington, Ontario. English had two goals and three assists for five points and collected a game-high 15 loose balls.

English was one of five Rock players to score two goals in the game. The other four were Owen Hirtz of Peterborough, Ontario, Chris Boushy, CJ Kirst and Hugh Kelleher. The Rock players with one goal were Dan Craig of Shelburne, Ontario, defenseman Josh Jackson of Coquitlam, British Columbia, defenseman Brad Kri of Acton, Ontario, and Mark Matthews of Oshawa, Ontario.

Toronto was the better team in three of the four quarters. Toronto outscored San Diego 4-1 in the first quarter, 5-1 in the third quarter and 5-2 in the fourth quarter.

The Rock will now face either the Halifax Thunderbirds or the Georgia Swarm in the NLL Cup Finals. The Thunderbirds and Swarm will play a third and deciding game on Sunday in Halifax. The game was supposed to be in Duluth, Georgia, but a scheduling conflict forced the deciding game to be played at the Scotiabank Centre.
